Christmas Dinner
at Disney World With Kids

KidsParkGuide.com · Disney

Where to find a holiday meal on Christmas Day in the parks, at the resorts, and nearby in the Disney bubble, plus the seasonal treats kids love.

You can have Christmas dinner at Disney World without leaving the Disney bubble, and some of the best options come with characters in holiday outfits. One park restaurant serves a turkey feast every day of the year, the resorts and Disney Springs add special Christmas Day menus, and EPCOT’s holiday kitchens are open through the season with no reservation needed. The catch is timing: Christmas Day tables book up fast, and the parks are packed.

This guide sorts the best options into two groups: the ones you need to book, and the ones you can walk up to. Disney announces some holiday menus late, so where 2026 details aren’t out yet, we tell you what was served last year and mark it that way. Christmas Day falls on a Friday this year.

Christmas Day reservations are open. Disney dining opens 60 days out, so Christmas Day became bookable on October 26. Check often for cancellations.

Lunch is easier to book than dinner. A midday holiday meal also leaves the evening for fireworks or an early bedtime.

Minnie’s Holiday Dine is the big Christmas character meal. It runs at Hollywood & Vine from November 4, 2026, through January 6, 2027.

EPCOT is your walk-up backup. The Festival of the Holidays runs November 27 to December 30, 2026, with holiday small plates around World Showcase.

When to Book Christmas Dinner at Disney World

Disney opens dining reservations 60 days ahead. If you’re staying at a Disney resort hotel, you can book your whole stay, up to 10 nights, starting 60 days before you arrive. That means Christmas Day reservations opened on October 26, and the days after Christmas open one by one after that.

If your first choice is gone, don’t give up. Holiday reservations change hands as families adjust plans, so check again often, especially two or three days before. On the day, the walk-up waitlist in the My Disney Experience app can turn up a table, and a less popular time like 11 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. is far easier to find than 6 p.m. Keep in mind that restaurants inside a park require park admission for that day.

Pro Tip

Christmas lunch is the sweet spot with kids. You get the same holiday food, prices are often lower than dinner, and nobody is melting down at a late table on one of the busiest days of the year.

Christmas Meals That Need a Reservation

These are the sit-down options worth booking. Prices listed are per person before tax and tip, and Disney’s child price covers ages 3 to 9. Kids under 3 eat free from an adult’s plate at buffets and family-style meals.

01 Hollywood & Vine: Minnie’s Holiday Dine

In Hollywood Studios, Hollywood & Vine turns its character buffet into Minnie’s Holiday Dine for the season, with Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, and Pluto in holiday outfits. This year it runs from November 4, 2026, through January 6, 2027. Last year it cost about $63 per adult and $42 per child. It’s the most Christmas-y character meal on property, and the buffet makes it easy to feed everyone quickly.

02 Liberty Tree Tavern: Turkey Dinner Every Day

Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square serves an all-you-care-to-enjoy, family-style feast all year: roasted turkey, pot roast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and toffee cake for dessert. If your family’s Christmas dinner means turkey, this is the most reliable pick because the menu doesn’t change for the holiday. Last fall it ran about $45 per adult and $24 per child.

Because it’s served family-style, picky eaters can stick to mac and cheese and refills are free. The Diamond Horseshoe, also in Liberty Square, serves a similar all-you-care-to-enjoy frontier feast if Liberty Tree is booked.

03 Garden Grill: Turkey With Mickey and Chip ‘n’ Dale

Garden Grill in EPCOT’s The Land pavilion is a character meal with Mickey, Chip ‘n’ Dale, and usually Pluto, and lunch and dinner include family-style rotisserie turkey. The restaurant slowly rotates, which kids love. Current prices are about $62 per adult and $42 per child at lunch and dinner. Pair it with the Festival of the Holidays and you’ve got a full EPCOT Christmas day.

04 Disney Resort Restaurants: Christmas Day Menus

Several Disney resort restaurants switch to a special menu on Christmas Day, and the decorated lobbies make a resort meal feel like an event. Disney hadn’t announced the 2026 menus when we wrote this, but last year’s lineup gives you a good idea of what to expect:

  • Whispering Canyon Cafe (Wilderness Lodge): A holiday skillet with turkey, pulled pork, and sides plus a dessert sampler, served noon to 10 p.m. on Christmas Day. The playful, noisy dining room is a hit with kids.
  • Ale & Compass (Yacht Club): A holiday brunch on Christmas Day.
  • Sanaa (Animal Kingdom Lodge): A holiday dinner on Christmas, with savanna views that kids enjoy.
  • Olivia’s Cafe (Old Key West): A holiday brunch and dinner on Christmas Day.

Check each restaurant’s menu in the My Disney Experience app as the date gets close, since these special menus are announced late.

05 Disney Springs: Christmas Dinner Outside the Parks

Disney Springs is the easiest place for a holiday meal if you don’t want to fight Christmas Day park crowds. For 2026, Disney has confirmed a Christmas Day turkey dinner at Raglan Road, the Irish pub with live music.

Disney Springs restaurants aren’t all Disney-run, so some set their own kids’ age ranges. Check when you book.

06 The Swan and Dolphin: Christmas Specials

The Swan and Dolphin sit right between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, so they’re still inside the bubble even though Disney doesn’t run them. On Christmas Day their restaurants offer holiday specials rather than one big buffet. You book through the Swan and Dolphin website or OpenTable, not the Disney app.

The Splurge Option

Four Seasons Orlando

The Four Seasons sits on Disney property near Magic Kingdom, and its holiday buffets are the most elaborate in the area. Last year the Christmas Day buffet at Ravello was about $160 per adult and $55 per child, and a Christmas character breakfast earlier in the day was about $58 per adult and $38 per child. It’s a big treat, not a budget pick, but it’s an option if you want a quiet, upscale holiday meal away from the parks.

Christmas Dinner at Disney World Without a Reservation

If you didn’t book in time, or you’d rather keep the day flexible, you can still find a holiday plate without a reservation. These options also cost a fraction of a table-service meal.

  • EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays: The festival runs November 27 to December 30, 2026. Last year, the holiday kitchens around World Showcase served small plates like roast turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes, so a few booths can add up to a holiday dinner. Kids can share plates, which keeps the cost down.
  • Disney Springs counter service: For 2026, Earl of Sandwich has a Holiday Turkey Sandwich through January 8, and The Polite Pig has an open-face turkey smash through January 11.
  • Turkey legs: Magic Kingdom and EPCOT sell turkey legs every day. It’s not a traditional dinner, but kids think it’s hilarious, and one is easy to share.
  • Your resort food court: Mobile order from your hotel’s food court is the easiest no-stress dinner after a long Christmas Day, and you’re back in the room in minutes.

Holiday Treats Kids Will Love

Even if your Christmas dinner is a food booth plate, a seasonal treat makes it feel special. These are on Disney’s 2026 holiday list:

  • Gingerbread Milkshake at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom, November 8 through January 2.
  • Gingerbread Cake at Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom.
  • Mickey Gingerbread Cookie at Trolley Car Cafe in Hollywood Studios.
  • Reindeer Sundae at Terra Treats in Animal Kingdom.
  • Gingerbread Mickey Cone at Swirls on the Water in Disney Springs.
  • A cookie-painting kit at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs, which doubles as an activity.

Planning Christmas Dinner Around a Busy Park Day

Christmas week is one of the most crowded times of the year at Disney World, and the parks can fill up on Christmas Day itself. A holiday meal fits best when it’s the anchor of a lighter day, not squeezed between rope drop and fireworks. A few ways to make it work:

  • Use a resort or Disney Springs meal as a break day. You skip the busiest park crowds and still get the holiday feel, especially at a decorated resort.
  • Book a park meal for lunch and leave early. A long, filling lunch followed by a quiet afternoon is easier on little kids than a late dinner.
  • Keep your phone charged. Mobile order, the walk-up waitlist, and your tickets all run on the app, and a crowded day drains batteries fast. The Anker Nano power bank from our power bank guide has a built-in cable, or the Anker MagGo if your family uses iPhones.

Pro Tip

Staying at the Swan, Dolphin, or a nearby hotel can make a Christmas meal there easy to reach. You can compare Disney resorts and nearby hotels for your dates on Expedia.

Real Parent Perspective

We’ve been to Disney World at Christmas, and it really is beautiful. It’s also busy, and going in with realistic expectations about the crowds makes everything else easier to enjoy. The decorated hotels were a lot of fun on their own. On one early trip we packed reservations into every day, and even character meals started to lose their magic after a few in a row. That’s why we’d plan one special holiday meal and keep the rest of the day simple. Some of our favorite meal memories are the unplanned ones anyway, like our youngest grabbing Donald Duck’s mouth during a photo at Chef Mickey’s.

Decision Guide

Which Christmas Meal Fits Your Family?

Book a Table If…

  • A sit-down Christmas dinner is part of your family tradition
  • You want characters in holiday outfits at the meal
  • You can commit to a time and plan the day around it
  • Your kids do better with a big, relaxed meal than with snacks on the go

Go Walk-Up If…

  • You booked late and the tables are gone
  • You want to keep the day flexible for naps or rides
  • You’re watching the budget
  • Grazing EPCOT’s holiday kitchens sounds more fun than a set meal

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • ✕Waiting to book. Christmas Day tables go first, so set a reminder for your 60-day window.
  • ✕Booking a park restaurant without a park ticket for that day. You need admission to get in.
  • ✕Looking for Swan and Dolphin restaurants in the Disney app. They’re booked through the Swan and Dolphin or OpenTable.
  • ✕Counting on EPCOT’s holiday kitchens for New Year’s Eve. The festival ends December 30.
  • ✕Stacking a late holiday dinner after a full park day with young kids. Lunch is usually the happier choice.
The Bottom Line

Book one Christmas meal that matters, and keep the rest of the day easy.

For Christmas dinner at Disney World with characters, Minnie’s Holiday Dine is the most festive pick, and Liberty Tree Tavern serves turkey every day of the year. Disney Springs and the resorts are great if you’d rather skip the Christmas Day park crowds.

If you missed the reservation window, EPCOT’s holiday kitchens or a Disney Springs holiday sandwich still gets you a holiday meal, and a gingerbread treat makes it feel festive.
